What’s Happening at Good Shepherd
Attention ladies of Good Shepherd The annual Ladies Christmas Tea will be held on Sat. Dec 16 from 11-2. Please plan to attend as it is a nice way to get to know each other better in a casual setting. The Dreher family has graciously offered to host the tea again this year. Please see Christine Osgood for more information.
Abraham had Isaac, Isaac he had Jacob…The remaining rehearsals for the 2017 pageant will be directly after the 10:30 service on Dec 10th, & Dec 17th. Hope to see all children and youth there.
An Offer of Prayer The prayer team prays for the needs of the church on a weekly basis. If you have a specific request (Praise or intercession) please fill out a card and place it in the “prayer box” by the bulletin boards in the parish hall. All prayers are kept confidential.

Last Week in Christian Ed Bishop Dobbs gave a lecture on Reformation, what it means, and how it differentiates Christianity from other religious belief systems.
Last Week’s Sermon was based on Matthew 9:35-38 and was called ‘Another Lord’s Prayer’. We’ll be posting the recordings of both the Christian Ed class and the sermon sometime tomorrow (Saturday), so be sure to check back!
Mission Group Discussion Questions
For all of the weeks of Advent this December, I (Ben) will provide you with an advent scripture to discuss along with the sermon scripture. For this week, there are no written discussion questions for either. The sermon scripture preached by Bishop Dobbs is Matthew 9:35-38. Read, discuss, and pray about this scripture. Then, for this week of advent, read Jeremiah 33:14-16. Discuss the prophecy and the expectation of hope it created in those who heard it and read it leading up to the coming of Christ into the world. Discuss how Christ fulfilled this hope and what we still wait for during this Advent season.
This Week
This Week in Christian Ed We will conclude our series on “Race, Life, and Sexuality” by discussing some of the controversies regarding sexuality in the church and how scripture is often misused to support gender and sexual confusion.
This Sunday’s Sermon will be based on Hebrews 11:23-28 and the faith of Moses and his parents.
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible. By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, so that the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.
Team Ephesians is working on the altar this Sunday.
The readings for this week are Isaiah 40:1-11 and Hebrews 11:23-28.
Karen C. will be serving on the altar guild this Sunday.
Shepherd’s Bowl Team 2 is serving this week with the Osgood family.
