What’s Happening at Good Shepherd This Week
Sunday Morning Worship and Christian Ed
Christian Education will begin at 9:15 and will be available at this link. This week we’ll continue our discussion of Clement’s epistle to the Corinthians written in 95Ad. This Sunday we’ll discuss the way Clement uses the Old Testament and how his application of the Old Testament can help us in our reading of scripture and applying it to our own lives. You can read the entire epistle on our website here. If you missed last Sunday’s introduction to Clement, you can watch it all here.
The 8am service will return when we can once again meet together. If you know someone who does not have internet, please let us know so that we can send a hard copy of the sermon and a bulletin to them.
The live-stream of the 10:30 service will be posted on Facebook each week. The stream will begin on Sunday starting at 10:20am but the service will not start until 10:30am. You should be able to access it at this link. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you will still be able to view all of the services, classes and studies.
Michael has become a bit of an expert in editing and making our livestreams as lovely as they can be. We’ve listened to the feedback that we’re receiving. You may notice some familiar voices and even faces reading the scripture lessons. Michael has been scheduling readers to come in and pre-record the scripture readings and then splicing those videos into the live stream. We hope to make this a regular part of the services until we are able to meet together again.
You can download the bulletin, including the scripture readings if you click on this link. In the bulletin, you’ll notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. If you would like to send your tithe electronically, these are the best ways to do so. You can still send your tithe in by traditional mail as well. You will also notice that the front cover picture, as well as the congregational directions are now in color! This is a bright spot of enjoying a fully digital bulletin. The red is a close match to the traditional color of those directions in the BCP.
In Other News…
Welcome! As I’m sure many of you have heard by now, Tyler and Ashley Van Fossen welcomed thier son Hudson Eugene Van Fossen on Wednesday, April 28th @ 2:18pm. He weighed in at a respectable 8 pounds and is 21″ tall. Mom, and Hudson (and Dad!) are all recovering well and are home resting.
As is the tradition at Good Shepherd, we would like to bless their family as a community by offering to bring them meals. If you’d like to sign up to bring them a meal, you can do so at this link.
Congratulations Tyler and Ashley! We are so excited to (safely) meet your sweet boy and welcome him into the body of Good Shepherd!
