What’s Happening at Good Shepherd This Week
Congratulations! Jonathan and Angel Groves welcomed baby Sawyer Arthur Groves into the world at 7:22pm on July 5th. If you’d like to bless the Groves with a meal to help ease the transition into family life, please visit TakeThemAMeal to sign up. Welcome baby Sawyer!
What is Confirmation? The Anglican Church requires a public and personal profession of the Faith from every adult believer in Jesus Christ. Confirmation or Reception by a Bishop is its liturgical expression. This Sunday several parishioners at Good Shepherd will be being confirmed. The confirmations will take place outside after the 10:30am service in the same way that we’ve been doing baptisms recently. Micah and Amber Lovell, Tyler and Ashley Van Fossen, and Emma Kennedy will be confirmed.
Mission Groups All Mission Groups are on hiatus for the summer, and will resume in the fall.
Women’s Bible Study The women’s bible study is still paused for the time being. Please see Christine Osgood for more information.
Camping Trip The young men of the GS youth group are going on a camping trip on Friday, July 24th. They will be leaving from the GS parking lot at 4pm and will be returning at 11am the next day. Please pray that this would be a time of prayer and growth for these young men. Contact Tyler Van Fossen if you have any questions.
Youth Group will be having Informal Gatherings throughout the month but there will not be any Sunday meetings.
Sunday Morning Worship and Christian Ed
Both the 8am Service and the 10:30 service will be held in person at Good Shepherd each Sunday. Christian Education will still be live-streamed but is open to the public, however the class is being taught in the outdoor area in the tent near the garage. The 8am Worship service will not be live-streamed, but the 10:30 service will be available to experience in three different ways. Please take a moment to read this note from Matt to the church explaining the options for worship.
Christian Education will begin at 9:15 and will be available at this link. This week Bishop Dobbs will be leading Christian Ed with a Q&A discussion. If you missed last Sunday’s Q&A class, you can watch it all here. Please send any questions you may have to Matt @ lambeth98@gmail.com.
The live-stream of the 10:30 service will be posted on Facebook each week. The stream will begin on Sunday starting at 10:20am but the service will not start until 10:30am. You should be able to access it at this link. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you will still be able to view all of the services, classes and studies.
You can download the bulletin, including the scripture readings if you click on this link. In the bulletin, you’ll notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. If you would like to send your tithe electronically, these are the best ways to do so. You can still send your tithe in by traditional mail as well. You will also notice that the front cover picture, as well as the congregational directions are now in color! This is a bright spot of enjoying a fully digital bulletin. The red is a close match to the traditional color of those directions in the BCP.
