What’s Happening at Good Shepherd
Dear Good Shepherd,
This has been a busy week at the office. While we’re in this season of Lent, I hope that you’ll be joining me in taking quiet moments to focus on how we can draw nearer to God. For me personally, it’s been a week of reflection. So much of my time is spent in the mundane tasks of everyday life as a mom, and wife that it’s been nice to take an extra bit of time each day to spend in solitude. I pray that all of you are making time to create intentional spaces to meet with God, and that this Lenten season brings new-found clarity.
In Christ,
Steph

Ongoing Ministries
Health and Wellness Our bodies are “the tents” that the Lord has given us to house our souls. Begin to take care of the body which God Has given you. Check your blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight every Sunday in the Parish Hall 9-10AM. Please see Dolly Shaller or Carmen Swoffer-Penna for more details.
Good Shepherd Food Pantry Thank you ACW so much for your generous donations last year. In the coming year, we’ll be depending on the congregation more and private donations less. This means that we’ll all need to be more mindful of how our pantry is stocked.
Pantry Needs:, Powdered milk, coffee, tea, cocoa, soups and stews, sugar free and low sodium, one box meals, canned meats (other than tuna fish), 1 lb bags of rice, condiments and salad dressings, and anything else you would like to bring.
Prayer Shawl Ministry Members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry are quietly sitting by the fireplace knitting. We are looking forward to meeting again in the Spring!
If you, a family member, or a friend is in need of a prayer shawl for comfort or joy, please, see Beverley Williams or Christine Osgood.

Last week’s sermon ‘The Source of Temptation’ was based on James 1:13-18. It can be listened to or downloaded here.
Tuesday Morning: This Tuesday morning’s Bible Study, ‘By Faith Alone?‘ was based on Romans 3. It can be seen here, or you can watch it below. You can catch up on all of the older Tuesday morning Bible studies you might have missed here. You’ll need to have a LiveStream account, but it’s free and easy to sign up for.
This Week
This week’s sermon is based on James 1:19-25.
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. (James 1:19-25 ESV)
