Ongoing Ministries
Thanks so much to all those who helped with and prayed for the Saratoga Youth Center Easter Party which took place last Tuesday. Jeremy the Illusionist again awed the children with amazing tricks before arriving at the most important part of the showa powerful articulation of the gospel WITH invitation to receive Christ as savior. We then served fresh fruit and cookies and ended the party with a game of Easter BINGO. The children each went home with a goodie bag which included an Easter coloring book of the resurrection and a kidfriendly salvation tract. Please pray that God blesses our efforts and that these dear children always follow Jesus Christ!
Health Fair and Ice Cream Social 2016. This year all participants in the event are required to agree with our statement of faith; a change which we pray will both protect us from the inclusion of groups which would oppose our beliefs, and also provide a venue for us and for other bible- believing Christians to proclaim our faith in words and deeds while promoting health of body, mind, and soul. This change also demands that we ALL take part in this effort. Please ask yourself what you can do to help and who you know who might be willing to participate. This event will include health screenings and information, holistic health professionals, Christian groups such as the Salvation Army, haircuts, skincare, facepainting, dance and athletic demonstrations, children’s crafts, music, food, and much more! Please let me know how YOU would like to help!
ACW The April meeting will be held in the parish hall at 11:15, Saturday, April 16th. The ACW meets the 3rd Saturday of most months. It will be followed by a potluck lunch.
Bread and Wine If you are interested in joining a group of moms for a monthly supper and discussion of women in the bible, please contact Liz Hull.
Health and Wellness Our bodies are “the tents” that the Lord has given us to house our souls. Begin to take care of the body which God Has given you. Check your blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight every Sunday in the Parish Hall 9-10AM. Please see Dolly Shaller or Carmen Swoffer-Penna for more details.
Good Shepherd Food Pantry As we partake of the Easter festivities with family or friends, let us not forget those of our congregation that could go hungry if it were not for people stocking our Member Food Pantry and keeping it stocked with good healthy food .These people have to depend on the kindness of others just to make ends meet sometimes, especially when they have big families, and many mouths to feed. So if you have the means to donate, please do; and keep those who use it healthy and strong.

Last Week
Last week’s sermon ‘The Resurrection of Jesus Christ’ was based on Luke 24:1-13. It can be listened to or downloaded here.
This Week
This week’s sermon is based on John 20:19-31.
On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.” Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.” Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:19-31 ESV)
