What’s Happening at Good Shepherd This Week
Thank you! From all of the members of the staff at Good Shepherd, we would like to express our deep and heartfelt thanks for the gifts that we were given this year by the congregation. We are truly blessed to serve such a generous and kind community!
Post-Christmas Schedule
All Bible Studies: will be resuming this week.
Choir: Choir practice will meet at the normal scheduled times.
Morning Prayer: Morning prayer is resuming on Monday at 7am. Please look for an email for more information.
Welcome! Ken and Kit Donovan welcomed their youngest son, Martin Joseph, on December 20th. We are so thankful to God for another healthy babe delivered into the Good Shepherd family. As is the custom at Good Shepherd, we like to bless the new family with a bit of time where they don’t have to think about meal preparations while adjusting. If you’d like to sign up to take a meal to the Donovans, please click on this link for more info about that.
Ladies’ Christmas Party and Cookie Exchange The Ladies’ Christmas ‘Adventure’ was a wonderful opportunity for the women (and young ladies) of Good Shepherd to get together, eat, talk, and celebrate. A hearty thanks to Ben and Ronnie Murphy for hosting at their lovely home.
2022 Directory Change In 2022, Good Shepherd would like to try having a photo next to entries in the directory so that we can all hopefully begin to put faces with names more easily.
If you would like to have your or your family’s picture in the 2022 copy of the Good Shepherd Church Directory, please contact Jon Groves or Micah Lovell for more information. If you have a photo you’d like to use, please forward those on to Jon by email.
ORDO Church Calendars The 2022 Good Shepherd ORDO church calendars are available in the rear of the sanctuary at the usher’s table. Please feel free to pick one up on your way into or out of the sanctuary.
Large Print Bulletins are available upon request for both services. If you need a large print bulletin, please let the usher at the back of the sanctuary know, and they will get one for you.
Zoom Morning Prayer This service normally meets online by zoom at 7am Monday through Friday. The liturgy and readings are available each day at www.dailyoffice2019.com. Join the parish email list and look for a daily email invitation in your inbox.
Both the 8am and the 10:30 services are meeting in person.
The 8am service If you are high risk, or at all nervous to be in social gatherings, this service is designed for you. All those who attend are asked to wear masks and remain socially distanced throughout the service. The 8am service is not currently being live-streamed.
The 10:30am service New York State Mask Mandate Issued: The Governor issued a mask mandate for New York State requiring masks inside public venues regardless of vaccination status until January 15th. You can read about it here.
You can download the bulletin, including the scripture readings here. One of the joys of having a fully digital bulletin is that we are free to use color! You’ll find that some of the artwork and many of the directions are in full color. You’ll also notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. You can give online through Breeze or you can text a donation through Breeze at 607-882-6551. Good Shepherd also has a PayPal account. If you choose to give via PayPal you can avoid fees by paying directly from your bank. Be sure to uncheck the box that says, “paying for goods and services” at the bottom or PayPal will charge Good Shepherd a fee. As always, thank you for your great generosity and kind support.
The lectionary readings for this week are: Jeremiah 31:7-14, Psalm 84, Ephesians 1:3-14, and Luke 2:21-40.
