Book Study of Generation to Generation The third meeting of the Generation to Generation book study, on zoom, will be Saturday (today), October 15 at 4:30pm. If you would like more information or an invitation, please contact Anne or Steph.
Trunk or Treat Good Shepherd’s annual Trunk or Treat is coming up soon! Last year we had a great turnout, and we’d love to get even more people out to share in the festivities.
Not only is this a fun event to go to, it’s also a great opportunity to get to know people in our community. Most people who live right next to our church have never set foot in the building. During the trunk or treat, they’ll get to interact with us in an easy-going environment.
Please let Jon know by October 21 if you would like to participate.
Time: Trunks arrive at Good Shepherd at 5-5:10pm, pass out candy at 5:30pm. You can leave early if you need to, but the event will officially go on until 8:00 or 8:30pm
Need to bring: 1) Decorated car trunk and 2) candy
Hearing Aid Batteries Do you wear hearing aids that take battery size 121? If so, please contact the office as we have been given a very generous supply and would like to find someone who can use them.
Volunteers for Tech Team Are you a technologically capable person who would like to serve the church with your gifts? Good Shepherd is looking add a volunteer team to run sound and the livestream for our services. If this is a ministry that interests you, please reach out to Micah.

Sunday Worship and Holy Eucharist Both the 8am and the 10:30 services are meeting in person.
The 8am service If you are high risk, or at all nervous to be in social gatherings, this service is designed for you. All those who attend are asked to remain socially distanced throughout the service. The 8am service is not currently being live-streamed.

This Sunday’s lectionary readings are: Genesis 32:3-8,22-30, Psalm 121, Acts 2:22-36, and Luke 18:1-8.

Preventing Grace Did you know that Matt and Anne have a podcast? Most weeks they cover topics like church polity, raising children, current events, and baking bread. On this week’s installment, ‘Red “Love” they talk about the Marxist assertion that the family is a bourgeoisie construct from which women and children must be liberated and how that basic idea has been embraced even by people who we wouldn’t consider Marxists. They also talk about buying a new Japanese bed and climate change and other things.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study This Tuesday Morning we continued our series on The Parables of Christ. You can watch here.

Thursday Evening Beginner’s Bible Study The Thursday evening study meets in person at 6pm in the classroom area. Jonathan Groves is leading the class through the book of Judges. This is a great place to connect with others and learn more about what God has to say to us through his word.
Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study The Men’s bible study meets at 6am each Friday morning, and they are currently studying the book of Jeremiah.
Women’s Bible Study This study is meeting at 4:30 pm on Friday afternoons in the Parish Hall. Anne Kennedy is leading and they are discussing the book of Proverbs. Children are welcome—as in, we hope to have some childcare available. If you’d like to join by zoom, please join the church email list and look for a link in the weekly update email.
