What’s Happening at Good Shepherd
Reminder This Sunday will be the Ojetayo family’s final week with us at Good Shepherd before they head off to begin a new chapter in their lives. Please join us after the 10:30 service in the parish hall for a potluck lunch celebrating their time as part of the Good Shepherd family. Please bring a dish to pass, but come and celebrate even if you don’t!

Please consider donating funds/supplies for this outreach to families in need. Especially needed are backpacks, folders, and crayons. Water Please take time to offer a bottle of cool water to a passerby or a basketball player!!! If you spend any time at COGS, you will notice folks just outside our doors. Make that small effort to touch them as you offer a bottle of water in Christ’s name. The water bottles with Christ’s message are in the fridge.
Thank you! This year’s Change for Life campaign at Good Shepherd raised $653.61. All the money will go to Life Choices, an organization that focuses on helping women and men in our community before, during, and after unplanned pregnancies!

Scheduling Reminder If you need to make an appointment with Pastor Matt, please be sure to contact Stephanie directly at gs.binghamton@gmail.com.
Often when people come to speak with Matt after the service on Sunday, he’s already been working for over nine hours, and doesn’t always remember to put it into the calendar. This can cause double bookings, or forgotten appointments. Please keep in mind that the office is closed on Mondays and Fridays, but you can always leave a message. Thank you so much for your understanding.

Member Food Pantry What is the difference between ‘doing’ and ‘helping’? The dictionary describes ‘doing’ as: an activity or proceeding, and ‘helping’ as: to assist. Our food pantry can be thought of in much the same way. It is a thing we ‘do’ to have a food pantry available to Good Shepherd members, but we can ‘help’ by continuing to keep it stocked with good, healthy foods.
Items needed: peanut butter, canned meats, tuna, coffee, tea, canned/powdered milk, canned fruit, canned veggies (except for green beans), rice in 1lb bags (brown or white), gluten free items, sugar free items, condiments: mayo, mustard, ketchup, relish, fruit juices (other than grape), kid foods, and anything else that you’d like to bring.

This Week
This Week’s Sermon is based on Hebrews 9:15-22.
Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. For a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated without blood. For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both the tent and all the vessels used in worship. Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
