Welcome! We are happy to announce that Ben and Ronnie welcomed baby Thaddeus on March 25th.
It is the custom at Good Shepherd to help the new family adjust to life with a baby by bringing meals. If you would like to sign up to take them a meal, you can do so here: https://takethemameal.com/IKPE1580.
Congratulations Ben and Ronnie! We are so excited to meet baby Thaddeus and are praying for you all.
Women’s Bible Study Women’s Bible study will resume meeting on May 5th.
Morning Prayer Hiatus Morning prayer will resume meeting on April 24th at 7am.
Are you going to Synod? May 21st is the day following Jon’s ordination as a priest at synod. This will be a very busy weekend for Good Shepherd. We’ll be having our first Catechesis of the Good Shepherd training retreat, and a guest speaker at both of the services. We’ll also have a visit from Darling Lopez, one of our contacts at CHE, one of the missionary organizations that Good Shepherd supports. With everything going on that weekend, we’ll most likely need some hands to help with meals. If you are available, and would be willing to help serve over that weekend, please contact Anna or Anne.
Good Shepherd Food Pantry Needs Please feel free to pick up a few items for the pantry when doing your household shopping if you have the ability.
We are currently running low on:
- Vienna Sausages
- Spam/luncheon meat
- canned fish & meats
- spaghetti sauce & canned meals like ravioli
Thanks to everyone for your continued generosity!
Sunday Worship and Holy Eucharist
The 8am service If you are high risk, or at all nervous to be in social gatherings, this service is designed for you. All those who attend are asked to remain socially distanced throughout the service. The 8am service is not currently being live-streamed.
The 10:30am service You can download a PDF copy of the service bulletin here.
This Sunday’s lectionary readings are: Acts 2:14a, 36-47, Psalm 116:11-16, 1 Peter 1:13-25, and Luke 24:13-35.
You’ll also notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. You can give online through Breeze or you can text a donation through Breeze at 607-882-6551. Good Shepherd also has a PayPal account. As always, thank you for your great generosity and kind support.

Preventing Grace Did you know that Matt and Anne have a podcast? In their most recent installment, ‘And Just Like That, Colonizing Was Good Again’, Anne and Matt discuss the colonizing influence of the LGBTQ religion and the drive of its devotees to destroy African and other cultures in service to their gods.
Miss an episode? You can find many previous recordings here.
The Cranmer Fellows Podcast (CFP) explores pastoral ministry and theology from an Anglican perspective. CFP is a project that Jon and Matt have undertaken in order to 1) encapsulate the pastoral training Matt has given men over the years into an accessible resource and 2) serve as a door to, we pray, a future program to train more people for ministry. Though geared toward the pastor, ministry leader, and pastor-in-training, what Jon and Matt talk about is applicable to all Christians!
In this week’s episode, ‘I Will with God’s Help‘, Jonathan has a conversation with The Rev. Jerry Shriver of St. Andrews Anglican Church in Endicott, NY focusing on his journey in following Gods call to pastoral ministry and the struggles along the way.
Jerry and Jonathan touch on the uncertainty and anxiety that is often felt in obeying God’s call, and they open up about some of their own insecurities in ministry. Serving Christ and his Church is no walk in the park, but with God’s help it can be done.
You can subscribe to CFP on all major platforms. Here is a link where you can listen! https://anchor.fm/
