Last Week
Last Week in Christian Ed we continued our discussion of God’s Communicable Attributes. You can listen here.
Last Week’s Sermon was called ‘The Bread that Endures to Eternal Life‘ and was based on John 6:22-26. It can be listened to or downloaded here.
Preventing Grace Podcast Did you know that Matt and Anne have a podcast? They talk about everything from church polity to rustic breads. This week’s episode is called, ‘It’s Advent Sinners‘. This week Matt and Anne discuss the Christian war against Advent, legalism and antinomianism, and preaching the Gospel rather than changing the world.
You can catch up on all of the older podcast episodes here.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study This Tuesday morning’s class was based on Leviticus 17.
This week we moved into Leviticus 17. There, God commands that no animal be killed apart from the tabernacle and that no one consume blood. There is only one place where sins may be atoned for, the tabernacle, and only one means, the spilling of blood. The principle of Leviticus 17 is that God is the author of life and he alone is able to redeem the lives of sinners. He fulfills Leviticus 17 on the cross where he atones for our sins by the spilling of his own blood, blood of which he invites us to partake.
You can watch the recording here or in the window below.

This Week
Christian Education We will continue our discussion of God’s “communicable” attributes…those attributes he shares with his creatures. We’ve discussed his knowledge and his wisdom (listen here), this week we will discuss his Truthfulness. If there is time we will begin our discussion of his moral communicable attributes beginning with his goodness, love, and mercy. Class starts at 9:15am. Hope to see you there!
This Sunday’s Sermon will be based on John 6:28-34.
Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” So they said to him, “Then what sign do you do, that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform? Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.”
Team Romans is working on the altar this Sunday.
The readings for this week are Malachi 3:1-5 and 1 Corinthians 4:8-21.
