What’s Happening at Good Shepherd This Week
Potluck! This is the first Sunday of the month, so it’s time for another potluck! This month we’ll be having a salad bar themed lunch. Good Shepherd will provide a basic salad and dressings. Please bring a salad topping or your favorite homemade dressing to share, but stay and have lunch either way!
Take Them a Meal As many of you know, one of our newer parishioners, Lin Layman has recently undergone several surgeries. If you’d like to be a help to her and her husband Bruce, one way that you can do that is by signing up to take them a meal. The signup can be found at: https://takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=DPEC2763&v=54f843158b or you can speak with Christine Osgood.
Change for Life Campaign “Mother’s Day weekend 2013, I found out I was 7 weeks pregnant. I talked to my pastor and his wife, and they referred me to Life Choices Center. I felt welcomed when I walked through the door. They really helped me through my pregnancy and helped me become a better parent. To this day, I still use the methods I learned from newborn baby to early childhood and now school age child. Glad to say my handsome little boy is now 6 years old, smart as ever, and is definitely a momma’s boy. I would definitely go back to Life Choices Center again for any help with pregnancy or parenting advice!”
This is an easy way that we as a church can help those in need at Life Choices Center. Simply pick up a baby bottle, fill it with cash, check, or coins and return it by Sunday, March 1. Life Choices Center is looking to raise $75,000 during this year’s Change for Life campaign – all to help women and men in our community before, during, and after unplanned pregnancies. Let’s join them in making this campaign a huge success! To learn more about Life Choices Center, visit: LifeChoicesCenter.org

Join us while we study this ancient collection of songs and poems that has been woven into our worship services for centuries. Please contact Christine Osgood for more information.
Good Shepherd Member Food Pantry With the rising cost of food these days, it gets harder and harder for some parents to feed their children, so food pantries like ours can help. However, if our pantry is depleted of good healthy food, that is also a problem. If you can afford to purchase an item or two to help us, please consider doing so. Giving regularly to the pantry allows Good Shepherd to give generously to those in need.
Items needed: Peanut butter, spaghetti and spaghetti sauce, canned meats (ham, beef, turkey, tuna), one box meals, nutritious child friendly foods, cereals (hot or cold), brown or white rice (1 lb bags only). cooking oils, macaroni, noodles, and soups, and anything else you’d like to bring. Paper plates and plastic cutlery, and cleaning and hygiene products are always welcome.
*Please do not donate flour or sugar as it encourages mice.

Preventing Grace Podcast Did you know that Matt and Anne have a podcast? They talk about everything from church polity to rustic breads. In this week’s podcast, ‘Discussing the Primates and the Cof E Marriage Statement‘, Anne is away this week so Matt took the opportunity to hijack the podcast to discuss the recent Anglican Primates meeting and the statement on marriage and civil partnerships released by the Church of England.
You can listen to past podcast episodes here.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study This Tuesday morning we continued in Mark 11, the cleansing of Temple and the cursing of the fig tree. Then we discussed the parables Jesus tells while teaching in the Temple he has cleansed.

This Week
This Sunday’s Sermon will be based on John 13:1-11.
Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God, rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?” Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!” Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.” For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, “Not all of you are clean.”
This Sunday’s Lections are Micah 6:1-8, Psalm 37:1-11, and 1 Corinthians 1:18-31.
