What’s Happening at Good Shepherd This Week
Welcome! Well, it seems Good Shepherd is exceptionally good at growing two things…men for ministry, and families! On November 15th, the Powers Clark family welcomed their third son, Gideon, and on December 20th, the Donovans welcomed Martin, their fourth child. We are so thankful that God continues to bless our congregation with an abundance of children.
As is the custom at Good Shepherd, we’d like to bless the new families with meals to help them transition. If you’d like to help with that, please contact Christine Osgood, or go to the links below to sign up. The Powers Clark family are pretty far out, so Christine is trying to organize multiple meals be delivered at one time. If you might be able to help with that, please contact her.
Youth Group Schedule Youth Group has resumed meeting on Sunday evenings at 6:30pm.
The Arrowhead Bible Camp service trip is coming up fast! Dates are Feb. 4-6.
Parents: please let Jonathan know if you plan on sending your kid/s on the trip. Price is $50/person. If you need help with money, please let Jonathan know.
ORDO Church Calendars The 2022 Good Shepherd ORDO church calendars are available in the rear of the sanctuary at the usher’s table. Please feel free to pick one up on your way into or out of the sanctuary.
Offering Envelopes The 2022 Personalized Offering Envelopes can be found on the usher’s table at the main entrance. If you would like to have a set of offering envelopes, please contact the office.
Zoom Morning Prayer This service normally meets online by zoom at 7am Monday through Friday. The liturgy and readings are available each day at www.dailyoffice2019.com. Join the parish email list and look for a daily email invitation in your inbox.
Both the 8am and the 10:30 services are meeting in person.
The 8am service If you are high risk, or at all nervous to be in social gatherings, this service is designed for you. All those who attend are asked to wear masks and remain socially distanced throughout the service. The 8am service is not currently being live-streamed.
The 10:30am service New York State Mask Mandate Issued: The Governor issued a mask mandate for New York State requiring masks inside public venues regardless of vaccination status until January 15th. You can read about it here.
You can download the bulletin, including the scripture readings here. One of the joys of having a fully digital bulletin is that we are free to use color! You’ll find that some of the artwork and many of the directions are in full color. You’ll also notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. You can give online through Breeze or you can text a donation through Breeze at 607-882-6551. Good Shepherd also has a PayPal account. If you choose to give via PayPal you can avoid fees by paying directly from your bank. Be sure to uncheck the box that says, “paying for goods and services” at the bottom or PayPal will charge Good Shepherd a fee. As always, thank you for your great generosity and kind support.
The lectionary readings for this week are: Jeremiah 1:4-10, Psalm 71:11-20, Philippians 2:19-30, and Luke 4:21-32.
