What’s Happening at Good Shepherd This Week
Congratulations! Jonathan and Angel Groves welcomed baby Sawyer Arthur Groves into the world at 7:22pm on July 5th. If you’d like to bless the Groves with a meal to help ease the transition into family life, please visit TakeThemAMeal to sign up. Welcome baby Sawyer!
Mark Your Calendars! As many of you know, our seminarians, Jerry Shriver, and Ifeoluwa Ojetayo are both being ordained this year. Jerry will be being ordained as a priest, and Ife as a deacon.
Typically seminarians are ordained at the annual synod, but this year synod was cancelled. Instead, Bishop Dobbs will come to Good Shepherd for his semi-annual visit on July 19th. That Friday, July 17th, we are excited to announce that Good Shepherd will be hosting the ceremony to ordain Jerry, Ife, and another seminarian Marc Steele. Please keep an eye out for more information as it becomes available. We are excited for this visit, and for the coming changes in the Shriver and Ojetayo families.
Mission Groups All Mission Groups are on hiatus for the summer, and will resume in the fall.
Women’s Bible Study The women’s bible study is still paused for the time being. Please see Christine Osgood for more information.
Youth Group will be having Informal Gatherings throughout the month but there will not be any Sunday meetings.
Sunday Morning Worship and Christian Ed
Both the 8am Service and the 10:30 service will be held in person at Good Shepherd each Sunday. Christian Education will still be live-streamed but is open to the public, however the class is being taught in the outdoor area in the tent near the garage. The 8am Worship service will not be live-streamed, but the 10:30 service will be available to experience in three different ways. Please take a moment to read this note from Matt to the church explaining the options for worship.
Christian Education will begin at 9:15 and will be available at this link. This week we’ll continue our discussion of Clement’s epistle to the Corinthians written in 95Ad. You can read the entire epistle on our website here. If you missed last Sunday’s class on Clement, you can watch it all here. Matt received several more questions on Clement that he wants to address this Sunday, so tomorrow will be another Q&A class. Please send any questions you may have to Matt @ lambeth98@gmail.com.
The live-stream of the 10:30 service will be posted on Facebook each week. The stream will begin on Sunday starting at 10:20am but the service will not start until 10:30am. You should be able to access it at this link. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you will still be able to view all of the services, classes and studies.
You can download the bulletin, including the scripture readings if you click on this link. In the bulletin, you’ll notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. If you would like to send your tithe electronically, these are the best ways to do so. You can still send your tithe in by traditional mail as well. You will also notice that the front cover picture, as well as the congregational directions are now in color! This is a bright spot of enjoying a fully digital bulletin. The red is a close match to the traditional color of those directions in the BCP.
