What’s Happening at Good Shepherd This Week
Sunday Morning Worship and Christian Ed
Communion Distribution Communion will be handed out by Anne at 2pm on Sunday in the church parking lot, and by Tyler on Tuesday from 9am-noon. Please contact the office if you need communion and can’t come during those times.
Christian Education will begin at 9:15 and will be available at this link. This week we’ll continue our discussion of Clement’s epistle to the Corinthians written in 95Ad. You can read the entire epistle on our website here. If you missed last Sunday’s class on Clement, you can watch it all here.
The 8am service will return when we can once again meet together. If you know someone who does not have internet, please let us know so that we can send a hard copy of the sermon and a bulletin to them.
The live-stream of the 10:30 service will be posted on Facebook each week. The stream will begin on Sunday starting at 10:20am but the service will not start until 10:30am. You should be able to access it at this link. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you will still be able to view all of the services, classes and studies.
Michael has become a bit of an expert in editing and making our livestreams as close to an in person service as we can manage without physically meeting. We’ve listened to the feedback that we have been receiving. You may notice some familiar voices and even faces reading the scripture lessons. Michael has been scheduling readers to come in and pre-record the scripture readings and then splicing those videos into the live stream. If you’d like to help and are a member of Good Shepherd, please contact Michael. We hope to make this a regular part of the services until we are able to meet together again.
You can download the bulletin, including the scripture readings if you click on this link. In the bulletin, you’ll notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. If you would like to send your tithe electronically, these are the best ways to do so. You can still send your tithe in by traditional mail as well. You will also notice that the front cover picture, as well as the congregational directions are now in color! This is a bright spot of enjoying a fully digital bulletin. The red is a close match to the traditional color of those directions in the BCP.

Praying Together in These Troubled Times There will be a prayer meeting in the church parking lot, weather permitting, at 2pm this Sunday afternoon, focusing on the current events in the world and our local community. If you’d like more information, please contact Anne Kennedy. Please bring a chair and water to drink.
Worship Together Matt sent out an email earlier today which mentioned that there are several people or families that are hosting small gatherings on Sunday mornings until we are able to meet together at the church. If this is something that you’d be interested in, please check out his email for a list of contacts and locations. If you are hosting a group and aren’t listed in that email, or would like to host a group, please contact Anna Dreher or the church office.
Welcome! Congratulations to Ken and Kit Donovan! The Donovans welcomed baby Peregrin Basil Donovan, aka Baby Pippin, on May 24th, at 1:28pm, and weighed in at 8lb 10oz, and 21″. We’re all so excited to meet Baby Pippin!
The Shepherd’s Bowl ministry has resumed serving. Meals will be pre-packaged and handed out at the parking lot entrance of the building at 5pm. This week Jeannie Garuto is serving with team 3. If you’d like information on how to become involved in helping with Shepherd’s Bowl, please contact Jonathan Groves or Martha Rice.
If you are a member of Good Shepherd and in need of food, please contact the office. We have food available in the member food pantry and are happy to coordinate a time to have you come and take some food for yourself or your family.
Youth Group Youth group will be meeting in person this Sunday. They will meet at 65 Beethoven St. at 1:30pm for a bible study in Tyler’s front lawn and then they will go across the street to Rec Park for a socially distant game. Please be sure to pick the kids up at 3pm.
Mission groups Many mission groups are meeting in person again. Please check with your group leaders to see what’s happening with your regularly attended group.
Bible Studies The Tuesday Morning Bible Study and the Thursday Evening Bible Study are both meeting digitally and are being led by Matt Kennedy. You can access last week’s recordings of most studies by clicking on the tab at the top of the page entitled ‘bible studies’.
The Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study is meeting via google hangouts. Please email Jonathan Groves @ jonathan jg.arrowhead@gmail.com or the office for more information about accessing that class.
All other groups and classes are cancelled until we have a better idea of what the coming weeks hold. As always, you are in our prayers.
