What’s Happening at Good Shepherd This Week
Saying Goodbye This will be the Van Fossen family’s last Sunday as members of the physical body of Good Shepherd. We’ll be having a special time of prayer for them at both the 8am and 10:30 service, and we will be having a luncheon after the 10:30 service in the parish hall. Please join us for coffee, lunch, and fellowship if you are able.
Catechesis Schedule Change Modified Catechesis of the Good Shepherd begins June 6th during the regular Christian Ed time at 9:15.
Ordination Invitation On June 12th at 10:30am Ife and Tyler will be ordained at this year’s annual diocesan synod. Ife will be ordained as a priest, and Tyler as a deacon. We have been given permission to invite the congregation to the service without registration. The ceremony will be held at Immanuel Leidy’s Church in Souderton, PA.
If you would like to attend, but need transportation, please contact the office and we will try to coordinate a ride.
For more information on the 2021 Anglican Diocese of the Living Word’s Annual synod, please click here.
Installation Service On July 10th at 10am, The Rev. Ife Ojetayo will be installed as rector at Holy Trinity Church in Syracuse, NY.
If you would like to attend, but are unable to get transportation, please contact the office and we will try to get you a ride.
Large Print Bulletins are available upon request for both services. If you need a large print bulletin, please contact the office before next Sunday’s services.
Zoom Morning Prayer This service meets online by zoom at 7am Monday through Friday. The liturgy and readings are available each day at www.dailyoffice2019.com. This is a great way to get back to reading the bible and prayer. Join the parish email list and look for a daily email invitation in your inbox.
Sunday Morning Worship
Both the 8am and the 10:30 services are meeting in person.
The lectionary readings for this Sunday are: Genesis 3:1-19, 2 Corinthians 4:13-18, Mark 3:20-35
The 8am service If you are high risk, or at all nervous to be in social gatherings, this service is designed for you. All those who attend are asked to wear masks and remain socially distanced throughout the service. The 8am service is not currently being live-streamed.
The 10:30am service is currently observing ‘restaurant-style’ masking guidelines which means that while seated, masks are optional. We ask that those attending wear masks when entering, leaving, or walking from one place to another (unless you are unable due to health reasons) and practice social distancing of at least six feet between your family and the next grouping. We are utilizing the honor system for masking and will not ask for proof of vaccination.
You can download the bulletin, including the scripture readings here. One of the joys of having a fully digital bulletin is that we are free to use color! You’ll find that some of the artwork and many of the directions are in full color. You’ll also notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. You can give online through Breeze or you can text a donation through Breeze at 607-882-6551. Good Shepherd also has a PayPal account. If you choose to give via PayPal you can avoid fees by paying directly from your bank. Be sure to uncheck the box that says, “paying for goods and services” at the bottom or paypal will charge Good Shepherd a fee. As always, thank you for your great generosity and kind support.
The 10:30 service is also available via livestream. You can access the stream at this link. The stream begins every Sunday at 10:20am but the service does not start until 10:30am. If you do not have a Facebook account, you will still be able to view all of the services, classes, and studies.
Christian Education begins at 9:15am and will continue to be live-streamed, however the class is open to the public with the same guidelines as the 10:30 service. It will be will be available at this link.

Last Sunday’s Sermon Last week Bishop Julian Dobbs preached on John 14:15-31. You can find his sermon here.
Christian Education If you missed Christian Ed last Sunday, we continued our series on The 39 Articles. You can watch it here. You can watch previous classes and much more at this link.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study This Tuesday morning we finished our study of Joel fairly early (we only had one paragraph to go) and then moved on to the next minor prophet, Amos. We discuss his identity, his historical setting and context, the issues God addresses through him, and how those things God says to Israel through Amos also have implications for the church and Christians today. You can watch the class here or in the box below.
Thursday Evening Beginner’s Bible Study The Thursday evening bible study remains on hiatus.
Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study The Men’s bible study meets at 6am each Friday morning.
