Good Shepherd Weekly Update, March 24, 2023

March 25, 2023Stephanie WarnerAudio

Acolyte/Crucifer Training If you or your child are an acolyte or crucifer, or would like to become one, please come to practice immediately following the 10:30 service this Sunday.

Note:  There will not be a potluck in April, as Potluck Sunday will land on Palm Sunday.

Stations of the Cross Our sister church, St. Andrew’s Anglican, (300 Wendell St, Endicott, NY 13760) is going to be having a Stations of The Cross service every Friday during Lent at 5:30pm and has extended an invitation to the Good Shepherd community to join them.

Are you going to Synod?  May 21st is the day following Jon’s ordination as a priest at synod. This will be a very busy weekend for Good Shepherd.  We’ll be having our first Catechesis of the Good Shepherd training retreat, and a guest speaker at both of the services.

We’ll also have a visit from Darling Lopez, one of our contacts at CHE, one of the missionary organizations that Good Shepherd supports.

With everything going on that weekend, we’ll most likely need some hands to help with meals.  If you are available, and would be willing to help serve over that weekend, please contact Anna or Anne.

Good Shepherd Food Pantry Needs Please feel free to pick up a few items for the pantry when doing your household shopping if you have the ability.

We are currently running low on:

  • Canned Proteins (Chicken, Ham & Tuna)
  • Chunky or Progresso style soups (with protein)
  • Ravioli/SpaghettiOs

Thanks to everyone’s generosity we currently have a good supply of Peanut Butter.

Sunday Worship and Holy Eucharist

The 8am service If you are high risk, or at all nervous to be in social gatherings, this service is designed for you. All those who attend are asked to remain socially distanced throughout the service. The 8am service is not currently being live-streamed.

The 10:30am service You can download a PDF copy of the service bulletin here.

This Sunday’s lectionary readings are: Ezekiel 37:1-14, Psalm 130, Acts 7:1-16, and John 11:(1-17)18-44.

You’ll also notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. You can give online through Breeze or you can text a donation through Breeze at 607-882-6551. Good Shepherd also has a PayPal account. As always, thank you for your great generosity and kind support.
