What’s Happening at Good Shepherd
Youth Group Youth Group is cancelled for this Sunday.
Harvest Dinner The 115th Annual Harvest Dinner was a great success. Many local neighbors came to join us for a hearty harvest meal. Thank you to all who helped prepare food, serve food and clean-up after the event.
Trunk-n-Treat Many thanks to all who participated in last week’s Trunk ‘N Treat! It was indeed a wonderful event with a huge turn-out! In addition to the usual games, refreshments, and trunks of treats, there was mesmerizing entertainment and a powerful articulation of the gospel thanks to Jeremy the Illusionist! People expressed their appreciation for this event and all that we do for the community. We also had the opportunity to pray with the parents and children of a young woman who was in the hospital! May God bless those who came and those who served. May He use these efforts for His glory and the furtherance of His kingdom!

Mission Group Discussion Questions
Keep these themes in mind as you read and consider this passage:
- The perishable cannot inherit what is imperishable and
- We will have the victory over death through our Lord Jesus Christ
- What is an inheritance? How is an inheritance gained?
- What things are promised as an inheritance to Christians through Jesus Christ? Why can’t we have them all right now?
- Why can you have confidence as a Christian that you will inherit an imperishable body, along with everything else that has been promised? (See Ephesians 1:13-14)
- To whom does the word “all” used twice in verse 51 refer? How do you know?
- What does the word “all” imply about Christians in this verse, whether they experience physical death or not?
- Will non-Christians also be resurrected? If yes, when? With what bodies will they be resurrected?
- What will non-Christians inherit after their resurrection? Why can’t they inherit the same things as true followers of Christ?
- Should this knowledge influence the way you share the gospel with friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors who aren’t Christians? How?
- When those of us who are Christians inherit our new bodies, what will be the state of death?
- What is the sting of death? What significance is the law in relationship to sin?
- What certainty do Christians have concerning the power of sin and death? How will sin and death affect the imperishable body? Why will they be without power?
- Who gives the victory to us over sin and death? Why is he victorious?

This Week
This week’s sermon is based on 1 Corinthians 15:58-16:11.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come. And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem. If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me. I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia, and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go. For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am. So let no one despise him. Help him on his way in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers. (1 Corinthians 15:58-16:11 ESV)
The additional readings for this week’s sermon are Acts 20 and Colossians 2.
