What’s Happening at Good Shepherd
Potluck! This Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, which means it’s time for another potluck!
This month’s theme will be Apps Only. Please consider bringing a dish of your favorite appetizers to share, but come and have lunch even if you don’t!
Please remember to clean up after yourself and your family.
Trunk or Treat This year’s Trunk or Treat was very well attended by neighborhood and Good Shepherd families alike.
Twelve families brought trunks packed with goodies and decorations, and several of the young adults manned the refreshment stand, serving coffee, cider, and baked goods.
It was a joy to be able to serve the neighborhood and to spend an evening together. Thanks to all who came out and shared their time (and candy!)
St. Nicholas Fair and Bake Sale Saturday, December 10th, from 10am-3pm, Good Shepherd will be having a Christmas Bake Sale in the Parish Hall! Come and enjoy coffee, cider, hot chocolate, cookies, games, and other festivities! If you would like to bake something delicious for someone to buy, please let Jonathan know. All proceeds will be used to help fund training for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. We hope to see you there!
Prayer Offered Good Shepherd has resumed offering Prayer on the side altar during Communion. Beginning this Sunday, you may notice a person standing at the side altar rail as you come forward to receive the bread and wine. That person is part of the newly formed Prayer Ministry–people trained to pray for any anxieties or troubles you may have. If you would like prayer for any reason, please feel free to stop as you pass.
Choral Evensong An Evensong service is a centuries old liturgy for evening prayer that is almost entirely sung, by both the choir and congregation. Join us for a service of Choral Evensong on Sunday evening, November 20, 2022 at 5:00pm.
Music will include various styles of plainsong or chant, a short anthem, and congregational hymns.
Giftable Jams and Jellies Good Shepherd will be hosting a beginner canning class on jams and jellies.
There will be a small fee associated for supplies, and each participant will take home some of the items made in the course. Please see Jenn Fowler or Steph for more details.
Volunteers for Tech Team Are you a technologically capable person who would like to serve the church with your gifts? Good Shepherd is looking add a volunteer team to run sound and the livestream for our services. If this is a ministry that interests you, please reach out to Micah.
Home Groups Home Groups exist to glorify God and build up the church through weekly gatherings where members of Good Shepherd and non-members alike may come to grow in fellowship and discipleship around God’s word.
Please see the paper bulletin for more information on times and places!
Sunday Worship and Holy Eucharist Both the 8am and the 10:30 services are meeting in person.
The 8am service If you are high risk, or at all nervous to be in social gatherings, this service is designed for you. All those who attend are asked to remain socially distanced throughout the service. The 8am service is not currently being live-streamed.
The 10:30am service You can download a PDF copy of the service bulletin here.
This Sunday’s lectionary readings are: Revelation 7:9-17, Psalm 149, Acts 3:1-10, and Luke 6:20-26.
You’ll also notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. You can give online through Breeze or you can text a donation through Breeze at 607-882-6551. Good Shepherd also has a PayPal account. As always, thank you for your great generosity and kind support.
