What’s Happening at Good Shepherd
Trunk or Treat Good Shepherd’s annual Trunk or Treat is coming up soon! Last year we had a great turnout, and we’d love to get even more people out to share in the festivities.
Not only is this a fun event to go to, it’s also a great opportunity to get to know people in our community. Most people who live right next to our church have never set foot in the building. During the trunk or treat, they’ll get to interact with us in an easy-going environment.
Time: Trunks arrive at Good Shepherd at 5-5:10pm, pass out candy at 5:30pm. You can leave early if you need to, but the event will officially go on until 8:00 or 8:30pm.
Potluck! Next Sunday, November 6th is the first Sunday of the month, which means it’s time for another potluck!
This month’s theme will be Apps Only. Please consider bringing a dish of your favorite appetizers to share, but come and have lunch even if you don’t! Some of our favorite appetizers at the Warner house are hot spinach artichoke dip and stuffed portobello mushrooms, so I’m betting at least one of them will make an appearance!
St. Nicholas Fair and Bake Sale Saturday, December 10th, from 10am-3pm, Good Shepherd will be having a Christmas Bake Sale in the Parish Hall! Come and enjoy coffee, cider, hot chocolate, cookies, games, and other festivities! There will be baked goods and some artistic gifts for sale.
If you would like to bake something delicious for someone to buy, please let Jonathan know. All proceeds will be used to help fund training for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. We hope to see you there!
Choral Evensong An Evensong service is a centuries old liturgy for evening prayer that is almost entirely sung, by both the choir and congregation. Join us for a service of Choral Evensong on Sunday evening, November 20, 2022 at 5:00pm.
Music will include various styles of plainsong or chant, a short anthem, and congregational hymns.
Volunteers for Tech Team Are you a technologically capable person who would like to serve the church with your gifts? Good Shepherd is looking add a volunteer team to run sound and the livestream for our services. If this is a ministry that interests you, please reach out to Micah.
Home Groups Most Home Groups recently began meeting. Please see the paper bulletin for more information on times and places!
Sunday Worship and Holy Eucharist Both the 8am and the 10:30 services are meeting in person.
The 8am service If you are high risk, or at all nervous to be in social gatherings, this service is designed for you. All those who attend are asked to remain socially distanced throughout the service. The 8am service is not currently being live-streamed.
The 10:30am service You can download a PDF copy of the service bulletin here.
This Sunday’s lectionary readings are: Jeremiah 31:31-34,19-22, Psalm 46, Acts 2:42-47, and Luke 19:1-10.
You’ll also notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. You can give online through Breeze or you can text a donation through Breeze at 607-882-6551. Good Shepherd also has a PayPal account. As always, thank you for your great generosity and kind support.

Preventing Grace Did you know that Matt and Anne have a podcast? Most weeks they cover topics like church polity, raising children, current events, and baking bread. This week they attended a clergy retreat, and weren’t able to get an episode recorded. They should be back with a new episode next week.
Miss an episode? You can find many previous recordings here.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study Following the parables series, we are embarking on a new series on the miracles of Jesus.
The first parable Jesus performs is The Wedding at Cana from John 2:1-11.
You can watch here or in the window below.
