Hearing Aid Batteries Do you wear hearing aids that take battery size 121? If so, please contact the office as we have been given a very generous supply and would like to find someone who can use them.
Chili Cookoff! This year’s annual chili cookoff was very well attended! We had seven different entries, and as Scott Pineau our reigning champion, didn’t compete this year, the field was wide open for a new winner! After much debate, our judges were able to narrow down the winners to:
- Meat (traditional pork/beef-based chili) – Joyce Carlson with her Basic Chili
- Vegetarian – Stephen Clark-Powers with his Vegetarian Chili
- Non-Traditional (white chili, chicken chili, etc.) – Bonnie Rios with her Spicy White Chicken Chili
The judges unanimously voted Bonnie’s white chili as the best in show.
Honorable Mention for the best named chili goes to Josh for his ‘Don’t Fear the Deer’ chili.
Thanks to everyone who participated including our emcee, Carrie Moorhead-Nelson, our judges, Jim Hull, Annabeth Hull, Nick Restino, Rachael Warner, and Anna Dreher. Special thanks to Jenn and Bonnie for helping to set up, to Don and Micah for helping with clean up, and to everyone who came and participated!
The next potluck will be on November 6th, and the theme will be Apps Only. Please consider staying after church and bringing your favorite appetizer to share! The Warner Family will be bringing Spicy Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip and Stuffed Mushrooms. Hope to see you there!
