What’s Happening at Good Shepherd This Week
Youth Group will not be meeting this week due to the long holiday weekend and the increase in local infection rates. They should resume meeting next Sunday, God willing.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study This class finished studying the book of Ephesians this week. This class can be watched in person at 360 Conklin Ave. in the parish hall, and can also be viewed online. If you missed last week’s class, you can watch it here.
Thursday Evening Bible Study has also resumed. This class is currently studying the book of Ruth. If you missed the previous class, you can watch it here.
Friday Morning Men’s Breakfast will continue to meet as usual.
Mission Groups exist to bring glory to God as we help each other become more like Christ for the sake of His kingdom and church. If you are looking for a way to get involved, grow in community, and deepen your understanding of God’s word, Mission Groups are for you. And we are excited to start them up again this month! Please consider the list below, and if you are interested in joining any particular group, please contact that leader. If you have any questions, or would like to host or lead a group yourself, please talk with Jonathan Groves.
See the paper bulletin on Sunday for more information on dates and locations.
Sunday Morning Worship and Christian Ed
A Message from Matt – Broom County Advisory: I am aware that Broome County Executive Jason Garnar issued an advisory regarding the Covid 19 spike in our area. If you have any concerns about your safety, please stay home and do not feel obligated to attend worship in person. That’s why we have worked hard to create a quality livestream. Since, however, this is just an advisory and not a mandate, services will be held as usual this Sunday. If you missed my note to the church regarding the upstairs service (mask required) and the downstairs service (mask optional), please be sure to read it here.
Both the 8am Service and the 10:30 service will be held in person at Good Shepherd each Sunday. We ask that if you come into the building for the services that you wear a mask unless you are unable, due to health reasons, and that social distancing be practiced at all times. Christian Education will still be live-streamed and is open to the public, however the class is being taught in the parish hall part of the building with masking optional. We do ask that everyone social distance responsibly. The 8am Worship service will not be live-streamed, but the 10:30 service will be available to experience online as well as in person on the property in both the sanctuary and the outdoor worship space.
Catching Up… Did you miss last week’s sermon? You can catch it here. Last week, Mr. Jonathan Groves preached on Matthew 21:33-44.
Christian Education will begin at 9:15 and will be available at this link. Currently, Matt Kennedy is teaching a series called Controversies of the Apostolic Age.
If you missed Christian Ed last Sunday, you can watch it here.
The live-stream of the 10:30 service will be posted on Facebook each week. The stream will begin on Sunday starting at 10:20am but the service will not start until 10:30am. You should be able to access it at this link. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you will still be able to view all of the services, classes and studies.
You can download the bulletin, including the scripture readings if you click on this link. In the bulletin, you’ll notice that there are links in the offertory section to take you out to two different means of giving electronically. If you would like to send your tithe electronically, these are the best ways to do so. You can still send your tithe in by traditional mail as well.
