This week, we started a new study of the Apostle Paul’s Epistle to the Colossians. Paul wrote to the Colossian church while in prison awaiting trial in Rome probably about two years before his execution. Paul did not personally plant the Colossian church so this letter represents his personal and theological introduction to them. The letter is known for its “high Christology.” Jesus’ divinity, power, and sovereignty over all creation is one of its main themes.
